'RocktoberFest' set for
Oct. 7 weekend

Local musicians will have the chance to compete in a "Battle of the Bands" and end up being crowned "MOT Idol" during "RocktoberFest" in Middletown during the weekend of October 7. Auditions were held Sept. 23 and will be held again this Friday, Sept. 30, at the Everett Theatre, for those wishing to compete in the "finals."

The finals will be held starting Friday at 3 p.m. and will go until 11 p.m. On Saturday, they will continue from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The event is sponsored by Middletown Main Street, Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce, WXCY radio and Home Depot.

Rocktoberfest will be held in the parking area at Middletown's Home Depot , 350 Auto Park Drive, Middletown, and will feature food, games, rides, beer, wine and much more. There will also be a "Rocktoberfest 5K" race to kick off Saturday's festivities at 9:30 a.m.

The winner of the Battle of the Bands, known as the "MOT Idol" competition will hopefully get time in a recording studio in addition to the award of being known as the best in the area. A car show will also be held on Saturday.

Admission is $3, senior citizens $2. A two-day wristband can be purchased for $5. Children under 12 enter free. For more information, visit www.********.*** or call Tracy at 378-2977.
