Description:

From Dover Officers' Spouses' Club Craft Show Website:

The Dover OSC Craft Show was founded in 1984 by Kay Kross, wife of retired AMC Commander, Gen. Walter Kross. In that first year, the show was held in the Youth Center of Dover Air Force Base (DAFB) and included only 20 vendors. After a number of changes in venue, the DOSC Craft Show was moved to its present location at the Delaware State Fairgrounds. With over 100 vendors/160 craft booths from eight states, our Craft Show has become the largest single-day craft show on the east coast!

The DOSC Craft Show is held every year on the first Saturday in November. We expect more than 4,000 visitors to come through our gates! This is a huge production for the Dover Officers' Spouses' Club. It's our biggest fundraiser and allowed us to give upwards of $30,000 in charitable contributions last year.

All profits from the annual Craft Show are donated to base, local and national charities. We also award a large number of scholarships to dependents of military members. Last year alone, we awarded $28,000 in scholarships.

All items sold at our Craft Show are hand-made. All vendors are asked to submit a raw materials invoice for verification. Here's a small sampling of the treasures you can find here:

Food
A variety of non-profit organizations from Dover Air Force Base and the community, serve as food vendors, serving a variety of foods and drinks, including soup bowls, German bratwurst and Frito Pie! The Food Court lends itself to being a major fund raising opportunity and morale builder for approximately 10 Dover Air Force Base booster clubs and community non-profit organizations. This single-day craft show helps these non-profit groups raise an overall total of about $10,000 in profits for their organizations. For some of these groups, this is the one fundraiser that allows them to operate and support their people the entire year.

Unbelievably, a small committee of officers' spouses, from DAFB, organizes this huge event, but it's the almost 150 volunteers that ensure its success. We are grateful to the many community organizations who support our Craft Show, without whose help, the show couldn't go on.
