CANAL FEST CELEBRATION RULES
September 6th, 2008

1.Application Approvals. The Canal Fest Committee reserves the right to approve all vendor applications and items for sale. Any application not approved will be promptly refunded.
2. Non-Refundable Fees. Once the Canal Fest Committee accepts a vendor’s application, the fee becomes non-refundable.
3. Application Deadline August 15th. The application must include a list of items for sale and complete and correct contact information. An applicant may not submit an application on behalf of another vendor or submit an application under an assumed name.
4. Special Craters Requirements. Crafters must submit 2 photos with the application showing samples of their work to be sold.
5. Special Food Vendor Requirements. All food vendors are required to
a. Obtain and post a current Board of Health Certificate, which must list the September 6th, 2008 date.
b. Must proved proof of liability insurance with the application that lists Delaware City as an additional named insured.
6. All Vendors to be “Self-Contained”. Participants are responsible for all power sources, power cords, cord protection, tables, tents, signage, etc. necessary for the successful operation of their business in the park setting. Battery Park has access to potable water and electricity, but vendors are required to be self-contained.
7. Booth Signage. Vendors must post signs listing items for sale and their prices.
8. Permits. A Vendor Permit and a Vendor Parking Pass will be mailed to each vendor with the event confirmation notice. Vendor Permits must be shown for access to Canal Street and park and must be displayed prominently at your assigned location.
9. Check-in. All vendors must check-in with the Vendor Committee at the Delaware City Marina at 302 Canal Street between 7:30 AM and 9AM on event day in order to receive space assignment. Early arrivals arranged on a case-by-case basis as requested on the completed Vendor Application. Late arrivals will not be set-up and forfeit all fees paid.
10. Set-up. Vendors are encouraged to be set-up and operational by 10AM. No vehicle movement to or from vendor spaces will be permitted after 10 AM.
11. Parking: Each vendor will be issued one Vendor parking pass for parking in the municipal lot, located northwest side of Washington Street. No vendor parking is permitted on Canal Street.
12. Cleanliness. & Clean up. Vendors are responsible for keeping their area neat during the day, for placing closed bags of trash at the designated collection points, and for leaving the space neat and clean. Grease and cooking oil must be cleaned prior to departure. Vendors agree not to place their trash inside the public trash containers.
13. There is no rain date.
14. No alcohol. No alcohol is permitted in the park or on the streets.
DEFINITIONS:
Crafter: individual that creates the merchandise or substantially embellish the merchandise. If you don’t make it, you’re not a crafter.
Retailer: individual selling items they did not create or substantially embellish-normally (but not always) purchased wholesale for resale to the public.
Community Display: individual passing our free information brochures, collecting sign-up information for an organization or event, giving away promotional items. Community Display booths are not permitted to exchange money (in any form: currency, credit or check) for goods, services, raffles or any other purpose.
